High Spatial Resolution and High Speed Observation by Using Projection-Type Imaging Mass Spectrometor
We developed projection-type imaging mass spectrometer consists of an ion source equipped with a high power and high repetition UV-laser with optical fiber beam homogenizer system, electrostatic lens system for focusing ion trajectory, and a time and position sensitive detector. For evaluation of this system, we observed a cryosectioned small fish (eviota bifasciata) with a with a field of view of 16.5 mm x 4.5 mm and spatial resolution of 2 μm. This observation result is comparable to 18.5 mega pixel image.
