13C-Metabolic Flux Analysis of Non-Epithelial Cancer Cells Using Mass Spectrometry
The 13C-metabolic flux analysis (13C-MFA) using mass spectrometry was attempted to investigate metabolic flux distributions in the non-epithelial cancer cells including YKG-1 (human glioma) and HT-1080 (human sarcoma). A time course analysis of cell numbers, medium components and 13C-labeling kinetics of the intracellular metabolites confirmed that 13C-MFA could be applied for the non-epithelial cancer cells. Flux distributions in the central carbon metabolism suggested that there was variation in the NADPH method among the cancer cell lines.
