Development of Mini Dielectric Barrier Discharge Ion Source for Air APCI and Study on the Structure and Reactivity of HO2-
Mini dielectric barrier discharge ion source for air APCI was developed and applied to the analysis of explosives and drugs. The structure and reactivity of HO2- were investigated experimentally and theoretically for the first time. The strong bond was formed between HO2- with CO2 to give HCO4-. HO2-reacted with trinitrotoluene (TNT) to form the phenolic ion accompanied by the elimination of CH3OH, i.e., TNT+ HO2-→C6H2N3O7+CH3OH via Meisenheimer complex, HO2...TNT(-).
