Application of Structural Analysis for PTFE Using TDP/DART-MS
Thermal desorption and pyrolysis / direct analysis in real time-mass spectrometry (TDP/DART-MS) enables measurement both low molecular weight and oligomeric pyrolysis products, and used for structural analysis of synthetic polymers. By applying it for structural analysis of PTFE, oligomeric pyrolysis products were observed. Besides of the spectral analysis, it was confirmed that the PTFE of this work has a carboxylic acid terminal functional group Thus, it could give us valuable clue to elucidate chemical structure of fluorinated polymers.
