Pre-Screening Method for rapid Phthalate diesters using DART autosampler

Mass Spectrometry is essential for Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) analysis. Especially Phthalate diesters widely used for PVC softening additives are strongly regulated by RoHS 2 directive and REACH directive. In these Directive, Phthalate diesters in the products are restricted less than 1000 ppm w/w. It is easy for recent mass spectrometer to detect 1000 ppm phthalate diesters in the product by complicated sample preparation. Py-GC is well known as pre-screening method without sample preparation. Actually Py-GC is faster than regulatory method, but samples that needs to check are much more. Now we demonstrate the rapid phthalate diesters analysis using DART ion source without any sample preparation. We propose the phthalate pre-screening method coupling with automated DART.
