Characterization of solvated ions in organic lithium ion battery using ESI-MS
Understanding the solvation state of lithium ions in lithium ion batteries (LIB) is important in battery performance and material design. Cluster ions including coordination number information can be directly observed by using ESI-MS (electrospray ionization mass spectrometry). In this study, solvated ions were characterized by combination of various electrolytes and solvent types.
