Exploring Ecotoxicants from Sewage samples by a Non-targeted Analysis and the Whole Effluent Toxicity Test
The Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) test has been established in 1985 in the US. According to its procedure, ecotoxicities must be reduced when they were detected from an effluent. In order to achieve efficient reductions, an identification of major ecotoxicants is of importance. Due to complicated matrices in effluents, however, it is difficult to achieve by the conventional WET test. A targeted-analysis may be effective to identify major ecotoxicants based on an ecotoxicant compounds list. So in this study a non-targeted analysis was conducted to establish the list.
