A facile method for preferential modification of the N-terminal amino group of peptides using DMT-MM
Modification of the peptide N-terminus with a charged tag is known to affect MS/MS fragmentation, which can facilitate the MS-based de novo sequencing. However, N-terminal specific introduction of the tag molecule often requires laborious and time-consuming preparation of reagents. In this study, we examined a facile method to introduce a charged tag specifically to the peptide N-terminus by using a condensation reagent, DMT-MM.
