Observation of glycosides contained in ENJU (Styphnolobium japonicum) by mass microscopy
The dried flowers and buds of Styphnolobium japonicum L. are used as a medicinal herb in China and it is known as Fructus sophorae, Huai Jiao or Japanese pagoda tree. The major flavonoids in fresh flowers (Huai Hua) and buds (Huai Mi) were studied by LC-MS in previous studies and Rutin was described as the main flavonoid. However, the component of dried flowers and buds are still unclear. By using imaging microscope with DIUTHAME, two unreported quercetin glycosides are determined. We also study on the physiological activity of quercetin aglycone.
