Multi-residue pesticides analysis in an agricultural crop using STQ method and Ultra-fast LC-MS/MS
In recent years, due to increased awareness of food safety, the amount of pesticide residues in food are controlled by local regulatory agencies that define the maximum residue levels (MRLs) and enforce compliance by regular inspection. As regulated pesticides and foods increase, analysis of residual pesticides in foods requires "quick, simple and precise" methods. Sample pretreatment such as extraction and purification has been regarded as a labor intensive process in analytical work. In this experiment, we pretreated spinach spiked with 207 types of pesticides with the STQ (Solid phase extraction Technique with QuEChERS) method. LC-MS/MS is widely employed as an analytical method for pesticides residues in food safety because of its excellent selectivity and sensitivity. Here we report the results of multi-residue pesticides analysis in spinach samples using Ultra-fast LC-MS/MS and show the usefulness of the combination with the STQ method in routine pesticides analysis.
