Enhanced Analytical Workflow for Glycomic Characterization of Biotherapeutic Proteins by Mass Spectrometry

Glycosylation is one the most critical factors affecting the quality, safety, and potency of recombinant biotherapeutics. Glycosylation is highly dependent on the production systems, the cell line, and the culture process. Small changes during production can significantly affect the glycosylation, and therefore the efficacy, of biotherapeutics. Thus, detailed glycomic analyses are necessary to assess biotherapeutic quality. Governmental regulatory agencies and biopharmaceutical companies, therefore, have a serious need for reliable methods that can accurately characterize and evaluate these biological products, particularly in terms of their glycosylation.
We introduced enhanced analytical workflow platform for label-free glycomic characterization of representative
glycoprotein therapeutics such as cytokine, enzyme and antibody that combines rapid profiling enabled profiling
of biologically relevant glycan modification, structure-specific and site-specific glycosylation analysis.
