走査型プローブエレクトロスプレーイオン化の高空間分解能質量イメージングへの挑戦
Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a powerful approach to understand the distribution of chemicals and/or to explore chemicals inside a material. Tapping mode scanning probe electrospray ionization (t-SPESI) is an ambient ionization technique that is applicable to MSI. MSI of solid samples such as polymer materials and tissue sections by t-SPESI have been studied to show the advantage of a chemical imaging without special pretreatments. For the advancement of t-SPESI, a spatial resolution is needed to be improved. The nominal and the best spatial resolution are about 100μm and 35μm, respectively. To realize the higher spatial resolution, a nanopipette is applied to t-SPESI for the first time. It was confirmed that the size of sampling area was decreased.
