イオントラップ内でのイオン分子反応(3):シナピン酸系化合物の水和を伴うフラグメンテーション

Fragmentation of 3-hydroxy-4-methoxy cinnnamic acid (HMCA) was studied by collision-induced dissociation (CID) coupled with quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer (QIT-MS). The CID spectrum of [M+H]+ at m/z 195 mainly showed the peak of [M+H-H2O]+ (m/z 177). The CID spectrum of m/z 117 showed the product ions at m/z 163, 149, 145,117 and 89, while the CID spectrum of m/z 177 originated from the loss of H2O from protonated ferulic acid (FA; Mr 194) showed product ions at m/z 145 and 117. The CID spectra of the product ions at m/z 145 originated from HMCA and FA showed product ions at m/z 163, 117, 89 and m/z 117, 89, respectively. A strange product ion at m/z 163 seems to be a peak of m/z 145 hydrated with H2O, which may be generated in the ion trap. The mechanism of the formation of m/z 163 is described by using other compounds such as iso-eugenol and sinapinic acid.
